Pill takeover

An event that borrows the whole pill — a timer finishing, a dictation running.

What it means

A takeover is a temporary state where something more important than the configured live activity claims the pill: a pomodoro chime with the pill announcing the break, or a live transcript while you dictate.

Why it matters

Takeovers give the notch a sense of occasion. The pill’s daily job is quiet information; its occasional job is saying “right now, this”.

How notchos does it

Timer completion takes the pill, per-sale banners spring from it, and dictation takes it over completely whenever a session runs — waveform and scrolling text, regardless of what the pill was configured to show.

Fair questions

Does a takeover change my configured activity?
No — it borrows the pill for the duration and hands it back when the event ends.
Can I turn the chime off?
Yes, along with every other notification-generating behavior.
